Hello Friends
How is your summer going? Fast for me! I know I said I would share all the wonderful gifts I received during my retreat, but I wanted to share something else with you today.
I work for a software company called Epic. I just celebrated 20 years. We have a user group meeting every fall called UGM. This is a themed conference for clinicians that use our software. This years theme is Meet Me at the Midway. It just so happens the Wisconsin Quilt Shop Hop theme this year is State Fair. Every year they come up with fabric for the theme. I found my fabric at a new to me quilt shop called Sew Many Threads in Evansville, WI. Sandy is so nice and had a display quilt put together. I followed her direction and made one like hers. Here is what I made:
I was speaking with a coworker from the Events team and telling her about this quilt. She informed me that we are having a quilt display in the big food tent. I sent her 8 pictures of my quilts and she picked 4 plus this quilt. They will hang in the tent the middle of August. I am so excited to see them hanging for people to see. I will post some pictures from the event later.
Other than that, I am working on a dog quilt for my daughter in love to raffle off at her shop. Pictures to come. I also have 3 quilt tops that need quilting. I should baste one of them soon.
I have been in the mood to make some bags. I did purchase some zippers so I hope that motivates me to make something soon.
Do you create/sew more in the summer or winter? I am usually more busy in the summer so I don't get to sew as much. I do try to do some hand sewing though.
Have a great summer!
Best,
Amy
